If you have questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please contact me at the address given on my About page. This policy became effective Nov 1, 2009.
Your privacy is important to me. I will not sell your personal information to third parties.
Like most websites, I collect information about my users which helps me gauge the popularity of my site. I also try to use this information to make my site better and more useful. I do not share any information with any third party that is not aggregated and anonymous. In other words, I only share things like how many visitors a month I have, or where most of the people who visit my site live.
I use StatCounter and Google Analytics to gather information about people who visit my site. Some of the information these services track may include: referring sites, exit links, search engine keywords, return visitors, visitor paths, time on site, landing pages, IP addresses, geographic information, browser used, operating system used, monitor resolution, and so forth. My understanding is that these services use cookies to track visitors.
I do not collect names, telephone numbers, addresses, or email addresses of my visitors. Someday I might do that but won’t share any of that information with any third party unless I obtain your written consent. This site does collect URLs and email addresses of people who leave comments. The email addresses remain hidden. You may decided to not share this information when leaving comments. If you do leave a URL, it will be visible to people who hover their mouse over them. This is common to blogs and is an industry standard.
I sometimes choose to join affiliate programs and advertise on my websites. My advertisers may or may not use cookies and gather information about you and share it with us. In reality, they don’t share anything other than totals and never share anything that could be used to identify anyone.
Depending on when you come to my site, there may be Google Adsense advertisements showing. If there are, then Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their Internet usage. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
